I am glad I am not the only one getting sick of this “Oda is sexist” tunnel vision.

Big mom is a manipulative, mental and physically abusive person and that is why I hate her. I have been on the receiving side of mental abuse when I was a child and I can say Oda is 100% accurate in what an abuser does.

Big mom acts all sweet and nice (or as some would put it “A big joke”) to people she wants to get on their good side. But behind the scenes she is an abusive bitch who slowly degrades her own children in order to control them.
She mentally abused Pudding for years and allowed her other children to pick on her. It made Pudding snap, thinking the whole world is disgusted by her and, before she can be hurt by their words, she’d kill them first.
Sanji is the FIRST PERSON who actually said something KIND about her third eye.

What Oda was trying to show here is “Sometimes all it takes is one kind word.” and it has been a reoccurring life-lesson in his series. Just like the value of friendship and, no matter how hard it is, never give-up and don’t let anyone stand in the way of your dreams. Push through it!

This arc even explained WHY Sanji treats women they way he does, but people have ignored it.

Zeff wouldn’t allow ANY women into his kitchen because he abuses his staff and no woman should be subjected to that kind of violence. When Sanji said he didn’t see the problem in it and Zeff should beat the women too if she gets out of line… ZEFF NEARLY KILLED SANJI! Telling him that, if he EVER hurt a woman physically, he would HUNT SANJI DOWN and CUT OFF HIS BALLS before turning the knife on himself and slitting his own throat.

And YES, Oda has made some very strong female characters that people are ignoring.

There is Miss Monday

Built like a man with an overly muscular body but still feminine enough to wear lipstick and flowers.
Sure she was eventually beaten by Zoro, but he had her by her face and the guy is a “monster.” He also had no problems inflicting pain on a woman.

But her defeat by Zoro did not diminish her strength and make her into a feminine crybaby weakling.
She married Mr. 9, had a baby with him, and still is tough as nails.
Miss Monday is still a bounty hunter, still getting into fights, and still a total bad ass.
Mr. 9 Looks like he got stronger as well, but also seems to take on more of the mothering roll. As we see HIM with the baby and his wife is the one drinking rum and reading the newspaper “like a man.”

Alvida is another strong woman.

Sure she used to be fat, but she always thought of herself as beautiful!
Meaning she wasn’t ashamed of her body!
Even when she lost the weight, she said the only difference was she lost her freckles.

It doesn’t mean she HAS to stay fat just to prove a point that “how you see yourself is more important than how others see you.”
It’s okay to work out, get back into shape, and get healthy!
Alvida has way more energy now and is still a heavy hitter. Her strength didn’t diminish just because she went on a devil-fruit diet.

Let us not forget this sexy old timer,

Doctrine Kureha proves you are never too old to dress like you are in your 20′s. She has thrown the dressing stereotypes out the fucking window.

She’s never been a damsel in distress other than that one time she tested Chopper’s doctor skills by getting sick.
(My personal thoughts is she got that on purpose- not taking a vaccine- and secretly had the right medicine ready just in case Chopper failed. She’s a “trail by fire” type of teacher.)
She is still one of the smartest people in One Piece, takes good care of her self, and can still kick some ass. Old age hasn’t slowed this granny down.

Enough said in just one picture.
She is another strong granny and her all-female marine unit is far from cookie-cutter body shapes.

Amazon Lily, I guess his arc didn’t exist.

Wow… look how identical to Nami they all look. It’s like staring into a bunch of Nami clones. They are probably really weak too. Look how helpless they are and have, in no way, tried to rip a man’s penis off with their bare hands.

Not even the main character is interested in their boobies.

Then there is everyone’s favorite feminist with chip on her shoulder and an inferiority complex… It’s Tashigi!

She started out built like a boy at first and it doesn’t matter that Oda decided to change his style and give her a “normal” female figure. This girl can still kick ass. And she’s libel to make shish kabob out of a man before falling for any of his romance bullshit.
Tashigi’s constantly accuses any guy who does not wish to fight her as being a sexist piece of shit who thinks women are weaklings. She doesn’t give a dam about the meaning of chivalry.

I don’t know why, or how, “wife beaters” became desired in one piece.
Remember this shithead?

He punched, kicked, and abused a tied up woman. A disgusting worm who has no ounce of kindness, chivalry, compassion, or respect for woman.

Is Spandam what fans are saying they want?
Why do people insist on Oda and Sanji being sexist for NOT acting like Spandam?

Oda did give Robin a back full of scars after fans complained the women don’t get scars. The truth was Nami’s scars are so small he forgot to add them in and in some panels the scar would just look like an ink blob if he put it in.
But did you know Nami was originally going to be a cyborg?

No foot, no arm, carries a big ax and full of scars.
He changed her design after he came up with Franky because he didn’t want two cyborgs on the crew.
It was a good change as the ax would be hard to draw in every arc but Nami still remains one of the scariest characters in the main cast.
She can take on and defeat the “monster trio” single handed, her only down fall is her lack of confidence. Getting easily scared by stronger opponents, but if she’s pissed off she can obliterate most of them with her lightning.
Oda has also said most characters in one piece are idiots… Nami and Benn beckman are the most intelligent characters in the One Piece world.

And if that isn’t enough to make Nami great, she’s also comfortable in her own skin and doesn’t mind changing clothes in front of guys. She can also flaunt it as a weapon with her Happy Punch. This doesn’t make her a “sex icon” but rather sexually dominate.

Sadi-chan is more of sex icon than Nami is.

But nobody likes to talk about her. She’s scary. Not to mention strong, independent, beautiful, not afraid to embrace her sexual side, and has a near orgasm every time she makes a man scream in pain.

Oda is doing a great job and there is so many good life lessons and morals in his story. He’s only human and doing the best he can.
Aren’t people on tumblr all for “supporting fellow artists”? Oda is an artist, let’s support him, not drag him down!
If people are not happy with the series as is, they don’t have to try and ruin it for others. Why stay in a fanbase you hate the very idea of?

I am a woman, I am NOT a feminist, I do not see Oda as a sexist as he has shown us it’s okay to laugh, cry, feel weak and helpless. It’s also important to make friends and value those friendships for they are one of life’s greatest treasures. Above all, never be afraid to follow your dreams! No matter where they take you!
Life is an adventure, enjoy the ride.
